Teaching

Read, Meditate. Study.

The bible is not a book to be read, it’s a book to be studied. The difference between bible reading and bible study is pen and paper.

God rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)

That is a biblical truth that applies to every aspect of our Christian “walk”. So when it comes to the bible, the Word of God, God not only expects us to read it, but to meditate on it, as well as study it. As we study it, God speaks to us, and He reveals His will for us from general to specific. As human beings, we have all the free will to show or not show obedience to His words and apply it so that the Holy Spirit can have His work in our life.

What is that “work”?

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

The law of light and refraction says that every time you step in front of a mirror, it is supposed to give you a 2-dimensional image of who you are, but the law of God says that every time we step in front of the Word of God, it does not give us a 2-diminsional view of who we are but instead we begin to reflect who it is.

Our spirit is saved instantly at the point of salvation, but our soul is being saved progressively each day. The bible helps us to transform into the image of Jesus. What we should be desiring is to be like Jesus Christ. It’s not about perfection, it’s about progression. We can either speed up progress or slow it down. The more we ingest into ourselves the word of God, the easier it will be to overcome Satan, the world, temptations and most importantly, self.

My goal as well as anyone else who will be teaching at BibleTalk is to allow God to communicate His word effectively and to challenge you to intentionally strive to be like Jesus.
