Psalm 13
1. How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever
How long will you hide your face from me
2 How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
4 lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”
lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
5 But I have trusted in your steadfast love
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
In the beginning of this psalm, David is questioning God's presence in his life during a hard time. David started out complaining, BUT when he remembered how good God was to him in the past, it made him REJOICE. His attitude completely changed when he remembered God's blessings in his life. Because of that, he put his complete trust in God to pull him through his hard time and SANG praises to Him.
At some point in life, we all go through that time of despair and trial. We, as Christians, are taught to believe that God is always there yet we still question his presence during our difficult circumstances. Don't question, just TRUST. We all know that we are not worthy in the presence of God, but when we put our complete trust in Jesus, we are made worthy through Him.
In these hard times, also remember that God's word is our key of promise. He will not bring any burden that will overcome you. God has everything under control.
The SILENCE of God IS NOT the ABSENCE of God. Keep trusting in Him.
Thank you for this, I really needed it right now. God bless.
