A Hug to all my Brothers & Sisters

The spirit has lead me to post this, I just felt like giving a hug to all my brother & sisters in Christ.
We are a community but more than that we are a family. Praise God.
When you accept Christ as your personal savior you arent just related to God: you are also related to other believers. Isn't that awesome, I rejoice in the lord just because I have a big family. We all have a spirtual bond no man can separate and that's through Christ Jesus.
Love one another has Christ loved you. Don't love a person just in your heart, express your love just has the one who expressed his love towards us. While we were sinners Christ died for us. Amen.

I Can't Stop Turning to This Verse...

Lately I've been doing some serious self examining and this week I keep coming back to this passage...it's always on my mind..and I can't stop myself from reading this over and over again. Yet it speaks to me the same way every time.

This is who you were. This is who you are now...now that you've know Him. This is your Testimony...

Ephesians 4: 17-24
"This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness."

~Remember~

Read this out loud
Luke 23:34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing"...
He hung on a cross built for a murderer. He suffered the searing pain of a whip biting through his skin- my words. He lay waiting for the nails to be driven into his hands by me- with my actions, my foolish mistakes that somehow repeatedly happen. He hung naked- I betrayed him and stripped him of all honor, clothing him with shame. Yet he hung and looked upon the people who so badly needed him, who needed to be taught how to love, how to give, how to communicate...the same people who were screaming profanities and killing him in every possible way with their inhumane hatred- having already forgiven them. I was in that crowd..but when he looked at me,in between ragged breaths, he spoke his love for me.

"Let the Beauty of Jesus Be Seen"

"Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps" (1 Pet. 2.21)

Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me

All His wonderful passion and purity

Oh, Thou Spirit divine, all my nature refine

Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me

Its very easy for your home, college, workplace, environment, the World and life in general to pollute your heart so that cannot reflect Christ.

What is Gods greatest purpose for our lives!? That we walk in the likeness of his Son and walk in that Newness of life Jesus so mercifully, graciously, and lovingly gave us!

Jesus Lord of Heaven

"Jesus Your love has no bounds"

Miraculous

And then there was the storm. The tie-yourself-to-the-mast-and-kiss-your-boat-good- bye storm. Ten-foot waves yanked the disciples first forward and then backward, leaving the boat ankle-deep in water. Matthew’s face blanched to the shade of spaetzle. Thomas death-gripped the stern. Peter suggested that they pray the Lord’s Prayer. Better still, that the Lord lead them in the Lord’s Prayer. That’s when he heard the Lord.

Snoring.

Jesus was asleep. Back against the bow. Head drooped forward. Chin flopping on a sternum as the hull bounced on waves. “Jesus!” Peter shouted.

The carpenter woke up, looked up. He wiped the rain from his eyes, puffed both cheeks with a sigh, and stood. He raised first his hand, then his voice, and as fast as you could say “glassy,” the water became just that. Jesus smiled and sat, and Peter stared and wondered, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” (Mark 4:41).

Jesus: “Who do you say that I am?” (Matt. 16:15).
Jesus: “Who do you say that I am?”
Peter: “I, uh, I, uh...I believe...that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (see Matt. 16:16).

I NEED YOUR HELP

Hey everyone,

I've been cleaning through my room/house today and I found that there are a lot of clothing that I don't use. As you all know, winter is headed our way... I thought maybe this season we could help give to the homeless.. the number has been growing recently, especially with all that american troops that have come back from war.

Over the next few weeks, if any of you could go through your closet/house and see if there are clothing in your home that is not being worn and can be given away, specifically jeans, jackets, shirts, shoes, sneakers, boots, winter items.. could you please let me know.. or just bring it out to bibletalk.

Also, it would even greatly be appreciated if you were to ask in your church, or have a clothing drive so that we can gather more.. thank you

Distance Unmeasured

Yesterday was encouraging

To be able to pour out our testimonies into worship instead of encouragement to each other is something that is not only moving but extremely humbling. To me, that had to be my favorite time of worship that we've had as a group so far; becuase not only was it sincere and from the heart, it was vertical. It was completely for God and not each other.

Yesterday when hap was sharing his swiftness to seek justice, I couldn't help but think how most of us are that way. When something is wrong or when someone has done us wrong we want justice. We want it right away, we want that person to pay for their offense, we want them to suffer the consequences.

And as he was talking I kept thinking about that verse from Psalm 103:12

as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

As I continued to meditate on that verse this morning and throughout this day it really made me appreciate Him all the more. I'm still meditating and gleaning from it, but as I was walking to class I couldn't help but think how the east and the west are completely opposite. You can never be in the east and in the west. It's one or the other. It's impossible for them to even have an end to the distance between them because distance cannot even be measured when it comes to describing two opposite sides that never end...

and I smiled as I realized that's the point.

man, God is good

He became sin

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

It blows my mind ..every time I read it ..I just can't get used to it ...that a holy, righteous, infinite, great and almighty God would humble Himself and choose to come down, become one of us and live among us and experience what it is to be us ...all because of love ..love for the Father and love for us ...

You will never cease to be the most amazed person on earth at what God has done for you on the inside

Matthew 7

17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

He Is God!

Hey guys. Jus wanted to share a verse I was meditating on this morning:

Is 43:12 - "I have declared and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God".

Wow, all I can say. This is God telling us who he is, or should I say reminding us who he is. It makes me think of how many things I spend my time for, and yet forget to give my time for God.

This reminds me that above all is God........because he is God.

God bless y'all.

His construction...looks like a toyset doesnt it?

and they're out!...again!

Our peoples are out there once again sharing the sweetest story ever known....So let's really uphold them in our prayers, pray for their boldness and willingness to share the gospel with anyone that they come into contact with. Pray that it not only ((shakes)) the unbelievers, but encourages any lukewarm believers that they come into contact with as well.

Hii

I love how u guys are writing on this wall those things you write even though you might not even know but its REALLY encouraging for me. As I was waking up today for some reason I didn't want to watch cartoons as I usually do but i felt like God was telling me to share some verses that were on my heart

1 Timothy 6:10 says " For the love of money is the root of all evil..."

Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.-

1 John 5:14-15
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

Even though some of you guys can't make it tomorrow to Central Park, I'm not worried because I am confident that you will be keeping us in prayer. Pray that every soul we come into contact with may know that our Lord, Jesus Christ is the Name above all names. Let's DO THIS! = )

To whom shall we go?

John 6:66-69
From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

To walk away from Jesus is to walk away from life. As Peter answered, "To whom shall we go?" The driving passion of our lives, as it was for the disciples, should be Christ and to see Him glorified. Often we stand alone, but praise God that we stand on truth and we stand in grace.

I dream HIS dream!

Hey Everyone!

Its Thursday!!!! The weekend is almost here!! Well anyway, I was just reading John 3, the story about Jesus and Nicodemus. From reading that, I feel that God has to change our plans for us to see the big picture. His plans are
much different from mine but what's amazing is His plans are much greater than mine.

We are made for Jesus!! I just encourage everyone to redirect that focus constantly. Write it down if you have too, keep yourself in check. What Jesus wants and not what I want. The other night after Bible Talk. I knelt to the floor so weak and desperate for God to reveal himself to me and you know what, I can testify to

Ps 30: 2

"Oh Lord my God, I cried to you for help and you have healed me."

I know we can all be a witness to the very fact that when you consume yourself with the Lord there is no greater joy. Have a great week!

Home Sweet Home

It's good to be back

Even in the midst of responsiblities and work that needs to be caught up on...there's no place like home. Being in that place where you know you belong, being in that place where you're loved and you can be yourself, Being in that place where you're not a stranger or visitor. There's nothing like it.

It's funny because every time I travel I am so excited to leave New York. Excited to leave the congestion, leave the traffic, leave the people who are always in a rush to get everywhere and honking their horns the second the traffic light turns green. Even when I'm at the destination I'm traveling to, the last emotion I am feeling is excitement to get back to those things. But every single time those tires land on that runway and I take a step out of that plane...I am so happy to be back.

There's no place like home.

Everything starts at home. Whether good or bad - home is where it all begins.

I have a whole lot of things that I could tell you about the Grand Canyon and my trip. A lot of ways that God spoke to me, A lot of things I learned, A lot of things I realized that were right in front of me the whole time. But moreover than any of those, a lot of perspective on the things I have yet to do and how much work I have ahead of me to get there.

All of which I will be pouring out in the weeks to come, on the blog, at ((Bibletalk)), at church, in conversations...

but if all you cared to know about my trip was to be molded into one sentence, it would be this...

Being in a place like the Canyon...not only humbles you but puts you in perspective of how small you really are.

Keep in mind there's only so much a camera can capture. Those of you with cameras should know that with your failed attempts at capturing the beauty of a sunset or the starry midnight sky

This picture doesn't do any justice

I guess you'll just have to go see it for youself

Off the Computer!

"The average distance of the moon from the earth is about 400,000 kilometres. This is very small compared with the distance from the earth to the sun which is about 150 million kilometres. The distance of the sun looks quite considerable, but is actually quite negligible when compared with the distance of the nearest star. When calculating distances to the stars, ordinary units of measurement will not do, for they lead us into fantastically large figures. Scientists and astronomers therefore use the "light year" as the unit of measurement - that is, the distance that light travels in one year. Remember that light travels about 300,000 kilometres (or 7 times around the earth) in one second. So the distance that it travels in one year comes to over 9000 billion kilometres.Let us consider the distances to some of the stars. The nearest star visible to the naked eye is a star called "Alpha Centauri" - which is four and a half light years away - that is, about 250,000 times the distance to the sun. This means that if you traveled at the speed of light, even though you would reach the moon in one and a half seconds and the sun in eight and a half minutes you would have to travel for four and a half years at that speed to reach "Alpha Centauri." To get a better idea of what this means, consider a scale model of the universe where the earth is represented by a grain of sand and the sun by a marble, 3 feet away from the earth. All the planets of our solar system would then come within a radius of 100 feet from the sun. But the nearest star would be 150 miles away from the earth on that scale model of the universe. The farthest star visible to the naked eye is in the Andromeda Galaxy, which is more than 1.5 million light years away. There are still more distant galaxies that are visible through telescopes, 6,500 million light years away. Now look at the sizes of some of the stars. They look so small that little children say "Twinkle, twinkle little star". The earth looks pretty large! It takes us many hours to get from one place to another on this earth. But the sun is so large that 1 million spheres the size of the earth could fit into it, if it were hollow. Yet even the sun is small compared to some stars. Some stars are so large that 500 million spheres the size of the sun could fit inside each of them if they were hollow. The star Betelgeuse, 520 light years from the earth, is one of the bright stars of the Orion belt. Its diameter is 500 million kilometres - which means that if it were hollow, the earth could comfortably revolve around the sun, INSIDE THIS STAR, in its normal orbit! (The earth's orbit around the sun being only 300 million kilometres in diameter). Now consider the number of the stars. Our solar system is part of a galaxy called the "Milky Way". Astronomers have estimated that there are at least 100,000 million stars in this galaxy. The sun is just one such star. And the Milky way is just one galaxy among many. Astronomers tell us that there are at least 100 million galaxies in the part of space that telescopes can see. There are many more beyond.Consider too the perfect precision with which these heavenly bodies move in their orbits. The best man-made watch is not more precise than the stars in the heavens. Surely there must be a Supreme Intelligence behind this universe, that created and planned each star and planet."-Zac Poonen

A millionaire might own acres and acres and acres and acres of land but his little child is FAR more precious to him than those Beautiful acres of land he owns. The same goes with God, Space is very big and the stars are HUGE but God loves and cherishes man more than all of creation. In the Psalms David said "When I look up into the night skies and see the stars, I can't understand oh God why you should pay any attention to puny man" WOW thats just AMAZING look at that we have an opportunity to even talk to the GOD who made all these wonderful stars and your reading this! RE: I am nothing

Amen.

- Ben George.

I am nothing

I am poor and needy, yet the Lord thinketh upon me. Psalm 40:17

I just wanna say that i'm an idiot. it wasn't anything that i did that made me realize any of this. it's just me sitting in my room and thinking about what i have and what i don't have. and guess what.. I have nothing.

I dont have anything in this world. none of it is mine. even the extra sleep i try to get in the morning.. it's not mine. everything is given to me from God. and if i truly believe in God, then i also have to believe that He gives all things. i have nothing.

I hate myself. and thats right. that's how it should be. i should hate me. cuz i'm bad, im horrible, im evil. i need to rid myself of me. im despicable when i step in front of a mirror. the worst place for me to be is away from God, cuz i do stupid things and say stupid stuff. sometimes you have to come to a point where you see you have nothing to understand that you aint nobody apart from God.

and I am nobody. I do dumb things. and sometimes the things i do, i dont even think im doing anything wrong until something goes wrong or someone gets hurt. and then it takes people around you to show you, sometimes you think you're not doing anything wrong but you are.
i thought i was good at communicating. that's not true. i'm far from it.

I cant even read people, I only see face value.

I have no gifts. I have no special abilities. I have no special person. I dont even have any money.
so why do I think i'll be alright by myself? cuz i'm an idiot. that's right.

I suck.

GodHonestTruth, there is no good in me.

and any goodness i've ever shown, any small feat ive ever accomplished, it was only because of Him.

I get it, and it's not the first time i realized this, so lets just say tonight is a re-realization. i couldn't even care less that it's 1 am and i've barely finished my paper for class today. i couldn't even care if i didnt get any sleep today. If God wants to energize me for the day, He can do that.
but how the hell do i look at the time and say, nope. no time for prayer because i need to study.
how do i do that? because i suck. why do i think of a million different things to distract me when i try to pray? because i'm not good. why do i get frustrated when the passage i read in the bible doesnt apply to my on-going situation? because i'm selfish and i suck. that's it. i'm a horrible person when i'm happy thampikutty. and i hate it. there is nothing that goes on right in my life when i live this miserable, "me-first" life.

it's a struggle, it really is.

and then on top of that, i think i'm alright. and as soon as i think i'm alright, God says, "you think you're good at that?, well lemme show you someone that's better".

and, "you think you knew how to talk to people?, lemme place this person in your life and show you, you have no clue on how to communicate"

and "you think I'm using you to do good works?", "yeah well, lemme use the simplest person to actually teach you a thing or two".

- i thought i had a thing or two, i thought i was good at something, and i thought i had it made in the shade. WRONG. i dont have anything and i am nobody.

another thing about life, don't open your mouth to talk the talk, if you can't walk the walk. Cuz if you cant walk the walk, dont expect anyone else to either.

I am nobody.. but God is still God. He can use the biggest loser to win the greatest victory. that's God. i can't even do any justice with words to what He could do. all i know is,

I am poor and needy, yet the Lord thinketh upon me. Psalm 40:17
man, I suck, I have nothing, and I can't do anything, but God still considers me valuable. He thinks about me. He knows i'm stupid, but He uses stupid to confound the world, and He uses the weakest to cause the mighty to be surprised. (1 cor 1:27)

I have not much to offer you, not near what you deserve, but still I come because your grace, has placed in me, my worth.

His Love Compels Us

14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
- 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

This verse really hit me this morning when I read it. One major reason being, that Paul says that the love of Christ compels us. - Not anything else but our LOVE for Him who died for us and gave us this new life we read in 2 Corinthians 5. I really loved that! But then he goes further, and says because of this, we no longer live for ourselves, but for Him.

I sat back and thought to myself today .... am I no longer living for myself and am I really embracing what Paul says, when he states, we live for Him who died and rose again!

This verse really made me put a lot of things into perspective ....

Just a thought to ponder ....

-Betsy

You already know

I'll be leaving in about 10 minutes, just wanted to stop by to say a quick farewell...

I'm really looking forward to this trip, it's a time for me to just get away and experience something that I've never experienced before. You already know I'm going to come back with all these inspirational thoughts about how awesome God is. Unless I happen to trip and slip off the edge of the canyon...then I won't have much to say at all.

But in all seriousness i'm going to have a lot of time to think and just be still. 5 hours on the plane to LA...4 hours to the Canyon...3 days at the canyon...Another 4 hours back from the Canyon...Another 5 hours back on the plane to NY. Point is, I'm going to have a lot of down-time with God. I'm going to have a lot of down-time to really sort things out.

Last night I was a little troubled, troubled with things that I've been trying to work through for quite some time now, I was brought to Psalms 120:7 and I was pretty speechless.

I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.

I literally laid there in my bed repeating those words over and over and over out loud for about 20 minutes trying to figure out what this verse means. I kept racking my brain as I asked God to reveal to me what this verse means. It seems so contradictory... how can a man be a man of peace and yet speak for war? I desire to be a man of peace, how does it make sense to speak for war?

I have a feeling that this trip is going to teach me what this verse really means.

I ask that you keep me in your prayers. Pray that I really do come back inspired, that during this trip I can find the contentment, peace, silence, but most importantly, wisdom that I have been searching for. Pray that this trip leaves me speechless about how beautiful God really is, and that God gives me ability to convey that effectively to his people. Pray that this verse comes to life before my very eyes.

My phone will be off for the next 4 days. I'll be using this time to just get away and be still, to renew, refresh, refill - whatever you want to call it. If there is something you really do need to contact me about, leave me a voice mail, and don't hesitate to do so. I'll try to check my phone every night.

take care guys,

I'll be extremely eager to hear about all the awesome things that will happen in the next 4 days.

later

drum roll please....

so we realized something

everytime we tried to tell someone our website url they'd be like "what? wait - what was that? .blohgot?, can you repeat that? can you spell that? is that two dots? wait you can have two dots in a url? so, let me get this right bibletalkministry...oh, nevermind bibletalkfellowship.blohgpot? theres a .com after that? What is this blohgot? ohh..blogspot? wait - what is that? Why do you have to add that at the end? Okay just go letter by letter I'll write it down, I can't do this, can you just write it down?"

okay so we're being a little dramatic

but the point is we figured that it would just be easier for us to tell others about our blog if it wasn't so long. In the wise words of costin and jayson it was time to "cut it" - that "it" being something in our url.

so that's exactly what we did

from now on all you have to do is type in
http://www.bibletalkfellowship.com/ and you're all set!

No more .blogspot, no more explainations about how its a "blogger" account so you have to type in blogspot, no more people not being able to find it because they forgot a dot here or there. This should make it all the more easier for us to share the url with others that we come into contact with as we outreach or even when we meet others in our daily interactions.

We also added an "Announcements" section to the right to post up all of our announcements - I'm sure we didn't have to explain that, but you never know... with guys like charlie around you kind of have to explain everything...

:) smile....God is good all the time...and all the time...?

God is good

let's keep running and striving to be more like Jesus

and let's not slow down for anything

amen?

Let this be your PRAYER everyday

Psalm 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

At times we as humans dont even realize what comes out from our mouth but keep in mind we are accountable to the almighty God for each and every thing.

Top of the Morning To Ya

Yesterday morning, I hit the snooze button a few times before I woke up. So when I said good morning to God, this is what He showed me. Proverbs 6:6-8
"Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest."

Haha God is awesome. He's the only one that can call me a sluggard, and not offend me, but encourage me.

An ant. A simple ant. That tiny creature that you cross paths with while walking outside, and often don't mind stepping on when it gets in your way. Somewhere in that tiny body it carries, it knows responsibility, it knows discipline.

How often have we sat around and watched the day go by? Minutes pass like seconds, and hours pass like minutes.

Today I encourage you to make good use of the time that you have. Be productive. Set aside something you want to get done today, and DO IT. Be assured that I will, and don't forget about those ants =).

Is Your Faith Worth Defending!?

Why should Christians should learn Apologetics or how to defend their faith!?
2 Simple reasons: The bible commands it and the World Demands it!

Bible Commands It:
"But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence" -Peter 3:15

"Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person."- Colossians 4:6

World Demands It: People have alot questions that keep them from coming to Jesus that they may have LIFE and People also have objections to Christianity and what we believe, we have to defend. We can't just expect people to take a blind leap of faith.

HIS name be Great among the Nations from Sunrise to Sunset(Malachi 1:11),

What! You too?

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one” -C. S. Lewis

It's nice to know others that are unashamed in their love for and pursuit of God :)

Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times ..."

-Lisa

A little push...

Praise God that ((BibleTalk)) has been growing stronger as the weeks go by. Honestly, last night I took a moment to just stop the responsibilities on my mind and take a look around. I couldn't help but smile and be at peace as I saw people conversing, fellowshiping, laughing, and writing down those things on our prayer wall to bring home with them. I couldn't help but smile at the fact that this was only the roots of a community, and that the tree is yet to be grown.

17 weeks & counting

We uploaded a couple more videos up on the teaching page. Including yesterdays awesome study on the word "Blessing" by George Dawson. We also put up Jason Philips teaching on Trust from Season 1 Meeting 9 & Happy's teaching on The Ten Lepers from meeting 12.

check them out for sure. I've learned in school that once you learn something, you have 8 hours to review it before it leaves your mind.

ha, It's been more than 8 hours. I think we all need some reviewing.

We'll post up all the videos from season 1 in time, including our time of worship from this week. Like I said before, it's just going to take some time because we can only upload a certain amount of videos each week.

but anyway, the the real reason I started writing this post...

was to leave you with a verse that was I turned to this morning, as I do every morning before I take a step out of my home, or every moment before I step up on a public platform to share or lead in worship.

"That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, Art the Most High over all the earth."
[Psalms 83:18]

Everything that we're doing should come down to this reason. Every action, every step, every word should be based around this reason.

Asaph :) this guy...

Invest some of your time today into an unbeliever. Even if its a simple phone call, tutoring session, e-mail, music lesson, basketball game, or just getting together, spend some quality time with that person. I mean whatever you do, don't make it a facebook message :)

Point is...You never know what kind of impact it may make. I've been surprised when people have told me years later that a phone call I made to them just to say "hi" still effects them to this very day. You can rest assured that if the reason that you're investing that time is for the above reason that we find in that verse, it will leave an impact.

especially if you are that morning without clouds (2nd Sam 23:3-4)

don't believe me? try it and see what happens

I'll be right here to hear all about it

Verse

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:2-3

If this dont challenge you, I dont know what will!

You may all know or have heard of C.T. Studd, he was the famous British athlete and founder of Worldwide Evangelizaton Crusade, he gave up all his achievements in this life for Christ's sake. He was challenged to his commitment by an article written by an atheist.

That article in part said:“If I firmly believed as millions say they do, that the knowledge and practice of religion in this life influences destiny in another, then religion would mean to me everything. I would cast away earthly enjoyments as dross, earthly cares as follies, and earthly thoughts and feelings as vanity. Religion would be my first waking thought, and my last image before sleep sank me into unconsciousness. I should labor in its cause alone. I would take thought for the morrow of eternity alone. I would esteem one soul gained for heaven worth a life of suffering. Earthly consequences would never stay my hand, or seal my lips. Earth, its joys and its griefs, would occupy no moment of my thoughts. I would strive to look upon eternity alone, and on the immortal souls around me, soon to be everlastingly happy or everlastingly miserable. I would go forth to the world and preach to it in season and out of season, and my text would be: “WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT A MAN IF HE GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSE HIS OWN SOUL?” - An Unknown Atheist

Many know that Christ died for our sins(1 Cor 15:3). But many do not know that Christ died "that we should no longer live for ourselves but for Him"(2 Cor 15:5)

All because of Jesus,
Tom

Hey Guys

Hope you guys are having an awesome day even though its raining outside. I just wanted to drop some verses that were on my heart through these weeks in the hospital and out

*Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

*Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:8-9

*What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; Psalms 8:4-7

The Sun Can Still Shine On a Rainy Day

hey guys, I hope that your being productive with the time given to you, I hope your learning all that you possibly can in the situations that are literally provided for you by God himself.

I just wanted to shoot out a quick post to just update you guys that I figured out a way to get the song sheets up, so that should be coming soon.

Also we just updated the teaching section by adding Know God Know Peace from Season 1 Meeting 13. I encourage you to take a listen to it when you get a chance to just be refreshed by what we learned.

I took a listen to it this morning when I got up, and I can tell you personally it was an awesome start to the day.

Keep it real today, and don't let this be like any other day.

Be that morning without clouds (2nd Samuel 23:3-4).

Just because it's raining outside doesn't mean that the Sun still can't shine through.

Good Morning

Just wanna say good morning to everyone. I woke up just praying to God the same thing, and what a blessing for God to just respond to our simplest words. God bless y'all :)

Glory be to God! Hallelujah!!! :)

Last Friday before going out to evangelize in the city, we were all very discouraged because of the heavy rain in the morning but God spoke to our SPECIFIC situation and encouraged us with a verse that been on Lisa's heart and she texted me that verse in the morning and it was

Isaiah 58: 8-11-"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

Thank you all for your much needed prayers! God began to open many doors for us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and unsurprisingly, we began to see principalities, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places trying to hinder us from sharing the Gospel of Jesus but thanks to your prayers, nothing hindered us from sharing the Gospel to those who don’t know Jesus . God willing, this Friday October 15, 2010, we are planning to go to colleges and share the Gospel so if anyone wants to come just give one of us a call or just let me know! And Im letting you know 2 week in advance so if you could, make plans accordingly or try to schedule so you would have off that day.

Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." Mathew 9:37, 38
" To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan into God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." Acts 26:18

Until the nets are Full,
-Tom

One Spirit, One Mind, One Family in Christ

"Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast (persevere) in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith (truth, belief) of the gospel; And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God"
-Philippians 1:27-28

May those who hear of our community rejoice in the work that God is doing in us. Let us live and walk in a way that others can't help but take note and be provoked to jealousy- that they would desire such a relationship with the Lord.
I've been facing some challenging moments at work in terms of tough conversations with many of my coworkers but through it I rejoice because every conversation is an opportunity for me to defend the truth of the gospel and the love of my Savior.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching
-Hebrews 10:23-25

Provoke one another unto LOVE and GOOD WORKS. I look forward to Tuesday nights because I know every time we come together God moves and we witness and embrace His move and that is absolutely awesome! I encourage us to be faithful and consistent in our responsibility of lifting each other up to the Lord during the week (especially lifting up those who are serving by leading us) and to speak to one another as the Lord communicates to us. As a family, lets pray we are aware of one another's needs so we can be there for each other and let us, everyday, allow Jesus Christ to change us from the inside out. Be encouraged :)

Proverbs 24:33-34 (NIV)

33 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest-

34 and poverty will come on you like a bandit

Use this day wisely, from the moment you read this post, to the moment you lay your head down on your pillow to rest - make the most out of this day.

10/1/10

Hey!

Yo guys. Im getting used to the blog, I hope the rest y'all are enjoying this too.

I wanna use this time to just praise God because of the way he works. Just a couple of hours ago, I was sitting around really doing nothing, but literally passing the time. Im gonna honest with you guys, this happens to me frequently. Most my time is spent wasted while the remainder is spent just in regret for not doing anything.

It's really encouraging and joyful to me that I have close friends to confide in, knowing that if God hadn't brought them in my life, Id probably be doing something else right now. I see God working changes in my life through different things. I was talking with a good friend of mine, who just called to check up on me, see how I was doing and such. That one call turned into an approximate two hour conversation because for once, I was being honest with myself, with others around me, and more importantly God.

Words just aren't enough to express how joyous I feel now, because I was explaining some personal issues I was facing in life, and it was such an encouragement for someone to just hear and lead in me the right direction. You know for some time I've been living my own life, in the wrong direction. But now I wanna take take that step and move the right way, which is towards Jesus Christ.

You know all in all, I wanna grow in certain aspects of my life that I feel are lacking. I just need you guys to pray that God will help show me how to be a man of God. To just be a Man. This is something I've never shared before to anyone else, so im glad im able to do this with you guys. God willing I have more things to write about, but all in his time.

Hebrew 4:16 - "Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

- Ben G.

He that winneth souls is wise

He that winneth souls is wise
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever (Proverbs 11:30 & Daniel 12:3).

Today Jayson, Tom, Tony and I were able to evangelize to many people at Penn Station, and Praise God, Jay and Tony were able to lead one young man to Christ whom they will be keeping in touch with! He that winneth souls is wise!

-happy

and they're out!

The rain will not stop these guys as they go out to share the gospel with those who are in need of hearing it! Let's definitely uphold our guys in prayer as they make their way to the streets of NYC. Pray for their safety and just courage and boldness to not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
