Yesterday was encouraging
To be able to pour out our testimonies into worship instead of encouragement to each other is something that is not only moving but extremely humbling. To me, that had to be my favorite time of worship that we've had as a group so far; becuase not only was it sincere and from the heart, it was vertical. It was completely for God and not each other.
Yesterday when hap was sharing his swiftness to seek justice, I couldn't help but think how most of us are that way. When something is wrong or when someone has done us wrong we want justice. We want it right away, we want that person to pay for their offense, we want them to suffer the consequences.
And as he was talking I kept thinking about that verse from Psalm 103:12
as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
As I continued to meditate on that verse this morning and throughout this day it really made me appreciate Him all the more. I'm still meditating and gleaning from it, but as I was walking to class I couldn't help but think how the east and the west are completely opposite. You can never be in the east and in the west. It's one or the other. It's impossible for them to even have an end to the distance between them because distance cannot even be measured when it comes to describing two opposite sides that never end...
and I smiled as I realized that's the point.
man, God is good
