Simple words

I want to say that I've been in awe of all the posts I've read on the blog...it has definitely encouraged me and it speaks tremendously of the power of an almighty God, when He speaks to a person through the voice of a fellow community =)

With that being said, a verse that has been on my mind lately is from the book of Hebrews...

"So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him, He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation." - Hebrews 9:28

I read this verse and I was just blown away by what it was telling me as a believer. To know that this verse communicates that Jesus Christ, the Son of God died for my sins when NO ONE or NOTHING could save me just brings me to my knees. In verses 11-14 of the chapter, it states that if blood of goats and calves could have cleansed a person's sin, "how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God." (Heb 9:14)
We've been saved so we can have that relationship with God once again, and I hope we treasure that. A reminder to get back into the JOY of true salvation =)

The latter part of v. 28, claims that JESUS is coming back! That's our hope and I hope we don't lose sight of that. That's what we should be holding on to...that's where our hope should be, not the material possessions we hold so dear.
I've been trying to practice that in my life, and it's a continuous goal that I keep in the front of my mind.
Let's keep that goal alive and eagerly await Jesus' glorious return =)
